We are looking for a skilled and experienced service engineer with a specialization in diesel engines to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in marine propulsion systems and a strong understanding of marine diesel engines, gearboxes, and water jets.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of marine diesel engines, marine gearboxes, and marine water jets
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults in marine propulsion systems and related equipment
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as per OEM guidelines and service schedules
- Coordinate with clients for service calls, site visits and technical support
- Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs and technical documentation after every assignment
- Liaise with the technical and sales team to ensure timely resolution of customer complaints
- Provide onsite and remote technical assistance to clients across marine and industrial segments
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols during all service operations
- Stay updated with the latest developments in diesel engine technology and marine propulsion systems
- Support pre-sales and post-sales technical queries from clients when required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in servicing diesel engines, preferably in the marine sector
- Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, including diesel engines, gearboxes and water jets
- Familiarity with OEM brands such as Volvo, Steyr Motors or similar international marine engine brands is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills
- Willingness to travel for client site visits and service assignments
- Good communication and client handling skills
- Proficiency in MS Office for report preparation
Good to Have:
- Prior experience working with marine vessels, boats or offshore equipment
- Knowledge of automation and filtration systems
- Experience with power generation equipment and industrial diesel engines
